"The dreamy swells of Expect Delays are sharp, crisp, to the point, and more often than not, very danceable. Their 5-song debut EP is a messy affair, heavily influenced by My Bloody Valentine and the electro-art bands of 4AD. Vocal duties switch from guy to girl, and trip-hop rhythms lurk in the backgound, yet Expect Delays confidently place their sure and melodic vocals on even with their syrupy guitar layers. The title track features a soaring female vocal and gentle reverbed guitars glaced over beautifully simplistic looping, and the result is a cross bewteen Cocteau Twins and Portishead.
